More from Raro

Kia Orana from Rarotonga!
We are having such a chilled time here cos basically we do not have a choice! It's been nearly ten days with only the occasional glance at a watch. It's great for us all to be still for a while and we haven't done a whole lot more than just explore the best snorkeling spots on the island.
Boys enjoy beautiful Muri Lagoon. There are 3 small islands you can swim out to here.
There have been afew downpours which have given us a chance to catch up on journals writing and get out of the baking heat.
At Fruits of Rarotonga we didn't even have to snorkel to see the fish, they swam all around us. Sadly we think it's because they were expecting us to feed them as so resorts encourage tourists to.

The boys in their den at Muri.
Homeward bound after a trip to the Saturday market which is a must. Bustling with music, colour, food, crafts and characters it's a feast for the senses. We enjoyed some Ika Mata afterwards. Raw local tuna marinated and served in coconut cream with onion, tomato and cucumber -mixed reviews.

We will miss this beautiful place, but are gearing up for our next adventure.

  4. Hi all, thanks for comments. We are melting, thank goodness were on an island! We are staying in a resort, we have a room with shower room and fridge and kettle. Eating out is pretty pricey. Found some couscous, lots of fruit, cheese and bread! Off to another resort today to use their pooland lagoon to snorkel xxxx

  6. Hi stevensons!
Looks amazing. Reminds me of my old stomping ground Tonga (ahem 20 years ago....am I really that old? ) will you be visiting Tonga? We had a similar raw tuna dish called ota ika.(I wasn't too keen) Do they have umu? (local foods cooked in underground oven?)
Really wishing I was there though spring has finally sprung here! Sarahx

    1. Hi Sarah, good to hear from you. So chilled here. People, buses, food, everything's relaxed. No Tonga for us, would love to have visited more of the islands, maybe next time! Glad things are warming up there! Xx
