This morning we said a sad farewell to the peeps at Nelson and set off in Ron for some South Island adventures.
It seems there are spectacular views round every corner.
First stop At Arnaud and Lake Rotoiti.
We decided not to swim. El and I checked out the lake whilst Fred and Mark searched for kiwis, no luck.
Freddy eyeing lunch.
Now, here's what happens when you queue at roadworks in NZ. A lovely person informs everyone in line that they'll just be 5 minutes loading some vehicles and hands out sweets! Just a shame about the flavour, bring on the travel sickness!
Next stop Murchison where we eat pies and wander round the junk shops.
Pick a number.
More fab views.
And then we arrive at the Railway House in Reefton. An original railway house which has been meticulously restored to its 1940's glory.
Complete with Eubank.
And copper cistern.
Reefton.
I remember these!
Then it's Crunchie's all round (made with hokey pokey honeycomb) and abit of Thor on the 'noughties' television set!
It must b hard to keep saying 'good-bye' all the time? Did u notice that the 1940s house, in Reefton had a Smeg fridge? R u camping or housing. All love XXXX
