Today we set off to a wildlife rescue centre whilst it wasn't raining!
Church in Aguas Zarcas.
The slogan on the side of this van we found rather amusing.
Cheeky chaps.
Banana's!
Great Potoo. Think it had hiccups!
Parakeets.
Great green macaw.
Caracara
Not sure what this pair of very blinky owls were but they were gorgeous.
Croc
When ants attack.
This reminded us of Jurassic Park. 'what's the goat for? He's gonna eat the goat!'
Pecari.
Vultures sunning themselves.
Jaguar. We were a little shocked at the small enclosures the cats were in. The rescue centre releases 400 animals a year so hopefully they won't stay too long in their cramped conditions.
Tapirs, these guys were big!
Agouti, followed us around most of the way.
Spider monkeys.
Beautiful toucan, check out the colours in that beak.
Boa constrictor.
Turtles.
The long walk home, what a fab day seeing some totally amazing wildlife.
More great sights and memories.. in the sun-shine - lovely. We have storm Barbara followed by storm Conor and perhaps no ferries for next few days!! Heather home tonight (Xmas eve till boxing day) we send lots of love and seasons greetings from our wee island XXXX XXXX
