Water, water, water!

Here's where the day began. at Aratiatia Dam. We waited expectantly for the midday alarms to sound and the gates to open.

And we're off!
It was impressive. This happens 4 times a day in the summer.
Water flows down the Waikato river.
After a quick lunch we headed down river to try the Huka Falls walk.

Taking in the view.

The water was amazingly clear. It was so hot the boys were melting on the track.

We made it. Although not the deepest falls we've seen because of the narrow path in the rock the water was crashing through.

The walk there and back took about 3 hours, this was our treat at the end. Otumuheke Stream. A natural thermal. It was hot and cold at the same time but fab!

Strange boy!
