Beautiful Rome

Good morning Italy, let's do coffee!

And then see some old stuff.

The streets of Rome are just so beautiful.
Thank you Jones family for the recommendation. Fabulous icecream!
The Trevi Fountain. We slung out coins over our shoulders and made a wish.

Apparently the quietest time to visit is 4am.

Watching the spray paint street artists.
Il Tempio di Adriano. Roman temple from 145AD. With 11 columns still intact it's now the facade for a conference centre.
A lovely big door.
Pinocchio 1.
Pinocchio 2.
Pinocchio 3!
Pizza! It's hot, salty, cheesy and delicious!
The Pantheon.

Gob smacking!

Cannot get enough of the shuttered buildings here. In their warm tones of yellow and terracotta, they are just so darn lovely!

Piazza Navano.

The Tiber.

We've had a fab first day in Rome. We've appreciated the quiet cobble streets and we've enjoyed just blending in.
Dinner!

Namaste Delhi, Ciao Rome!

Well, missed a day but it was mainly spent in a dodgy, cheap hotel near Delhi airport where windows hadn't been finished properly. There was a couple of inches gap which let in all the road noise and the rain. The floor was flooded and we were up moving bags to higher ground in the night.
Up at 3am and at the World's Number 1 airport!!
Boys happy, there's a screen on Turkish Airlines. They get a goody bag and we all get slipper and lip balm, Yay!

And I get the window!!
It's a pretty cloudy morning in Northern India.
But beautiful up in the clouds.

Breakfast is not half bad.
And the view of the mountains over Afghanistan is fabulous.

A little tipple at around 10am.
And here comes Turkey.

A quick transfer through a mega busy airport and we're back on with Turkish Airlines.

As we are about to land a little girl gets up and starts wandering round the plane. It's our worst landing yet, so much turbulence.
Then it's an Italian double decker train and a short walk to our apartment.
Which is fab, boys make a 'base'& straight away!
We head out for groceries. The air is clear, there's a gorgeous warm breeze, there are no cows on the road, it's so quiet!!!
Hmmmm, where to begin?
We head back, eat olives, bread, pasta and collapse into bed.
It's so quiet! Did I say that already?
