Today we head 2 stops from Ari to Mo Chit. To the weekend market and the park.
We grab some bites, hire a mat for 50p and have ourselves a picnic.
Then a wander round the market.
Some of the cool artwork.
We are trying to find the mall so we can stock up on some bits for India. We end up in the aquarium section of the market which isn't so pleasent.
Hundreds of stalls selling fish in bags and tiny fish in tiny tubs. Some fish in trays with not enough water are forced to swim on their sides.
Maggots and worms.
Crayfish.
Frogs or toads in tubs. We also watched a guy scoop live frogs into plastic bags.
Tiny turtles.
Alsorts of fish including rays.We guess most of these are for home aquariums but wonder if some are for eating?
Huge vats of food.
Crunchy insects?
Turns out the mall is just an indoor market and doesn't contain a boots or superdrug! It does contain some rather fancy pink Elephants.
And winged lions.
Achy feet, we've had enough. We are forced back through the pet section of the market and is even more depressing.
Too many puppies in small cages. It's so hot too.
You wonder what happens to them when the markets closed. Do they just stay in the cages?
Lizards and snakes.
All squished together and yapping.
Birds.
Bunnies.
Here comes the storm. The train station is heaving.
We make it back for some dinner before getting drenched on the walk home.
Boys add their post it reviews to the wall in Paper Butter and the Burger.
Does Bangkok ever sleep? The markets look manic - and quite distressing if you over-think them?!? Just as well we don't judge, eh Jo? Hope Ur all well and eating lots of fruit and veg! All love S/D xxxx xxxx
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it doesn't sleep! Markets with lovely colourful clothes and things are one thing, but the animals was abit tricky. Elliot was interested in the fish, Freddy was just upset. Xxxx
