I feel this maybe a long one!
We are tested and fed so we head to the zoo. Our Uber has to be the nicest guy in Singapore!
White faced Saki monkeys.
The zoo is huge. Lots of animals are just free ranging, is great
False Gharial.
Where to start.
Watch out Fredster!
Talking to the Dino's.
A wee snack!
Elliot and friend.
Inuka the polar bear.
I'm sure there's a joke about polar bears, just can't seem to remember it......
African landscapes.
Sleepy head.
We loved this rainforest done where the birds and animals were all around you. Was fab to get so close to these flying foxes.
Proboscis monkeys. These guys reminded us of a certain US President! (Sorry monkey's)
Chimps.
Orangutans.
Komodo dragon.
Giant turtles.
We are hot and sweaty so jump on the train.
Pygmy hippos, ballerinas in the water! They can't actually swim so the sought of tiptoe a road the bottom.
White tiger.
The elephants.
Baboons.
The zoo was beautiful. The animals had great surroundings and seemed very well cared for. There were hundreds of staff. So much interesting info about the animals, their behaviours and the conservation. Lots of messages about what we can do to keep these animals thriving in the wild.
Next we head to Clementi to catch up with Steve and his family. Steve taught me to drive about 15 years ago! We head to a local Hawker Centre for food and too much Tiger beer!
Freddy and Charlie choosing their food.
We only really saw the children when it was time to eat. They spent most of their time at nearby parks. So much freedom and independence here for kids as it's so safe. They just took money and went and chose their own food, brilliant!
£2 buys you a big plate of delicious food.
Clare and I got more than we bargained for on our plates. There was one thing on my plate we couldn't identify. Everything else yummy.
Was a super evening in fab company. And what's not to love about Singapore.
Alice, Charlie, Freddy and Elliot. Lovely children.
The Hawker Centre.

DeleteOnce again, every picture tells a story. Not really sure what I think about zoos? but what of we didn't have them? We must stop chopping down animals habitat. And the polar-bear!! poor big fella... but his home is melting!? Help!? I'd quite like to hold a chimp and look into his/her eyes. The,zoo looks well kept and organised. As does Singapore. What do ur friends work at Jo? Love U guys XXXX
ReplyDeleteNot of IF!!
ReplyDeleteHey Sheila, zoo was good i think, as far as zoos go. And they do heaps of conservation work and are responsible for animal numbers being up. But you are right, it's a tricky one, polar bears in Singapore?! Our friends teach here at a International School. They are always looking for primary teachers!! Love you xxxx
