Georgetown Part Two

The hawker where I have Char Koay Teoy. Delicious, noodles, beansprouts, prawns and egg. The boys watch me eat.
Then we find this guy cooking up Kok Pancakes.
They are superb. The boys go back for seconds.

More beautiful buildings.

Today is Wesak Day and a public holiday. And we are lucky enough to join in the celebrations.

Buddhists in Malaysia celebrate Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and death on Wesak Day. It is sometimes referred to as Buddha’s Birthday, Buddha Day or Buddha Purnima.

We watch the huge carnival along the streets with floats, singing, dancing, music and happiness. We are handed flags and flowers and I get a Lotus flower candle light. The boys are handed sweets and bread as everyone wishes us ' Happy Wesak Day'

It's such an infectious, beautiful, fun, peaceful and happy celebration. So lucky we got to join in.

  2. Well weren't U lucky to b there on Wesak day? I like the concept of Buddhism -especially meditation, which I actually practice on a daily basis. 😊 The buildings r difficult to distinguish between housing/shops/workplaces and civil halls etc. but all interesting in GT. Hope U r all well? Much love D/Sxxxx. Xxxx
