Penang Hill is where we head this morning.
We ride to the top on this funicular train. It's pretty steep and goes surprisingly quick.
They crammed us in too, it was like being on the subway!
View from the top was just amazing.
And then there was this.....some kind of 'live stroll' with music pumping, a giant bee and some garden gnomes! We don't get it?
Biggest ant on trip so far. Bigger then Costa Rican ants. Tried to use pen to get perspective, ant was quick. Big and fast!!
Big spider, can you spot it?
The Love Lock. Thousands of heart shaped padlocks all with messages.
Temple at the top.
Cream tea at the top, there was only one left!
Going down.
At the bottom of the hill we spy this. Kek Lok Si temple. We convince the boys we should get a closer look and end up going all the way to the top through a labyrinth of alleys full of tourist souvenirs. Despite Freddy eyeing up an impressive silver dagger we manage to get through without a purchase!
It's really quite beautiful.
The boys choose a wishing ribbon to hang on the tree.
Elliot's.
Freddys.
We then get into the incline lift to visit the magnificent bronze statue of Avalokiteshvara at the very top.
It's a pretty awesome sight.
Freddy glistens.
All in all another mega day. Felt like one of the hottest yet. We had a glorious swim and the headed to a local Malaysian eatery. At least 4 guys tried to help us with our order. We were so keen to eat and try some different stuff. In the end a random guy intervened and took our order!
