Today we fly at a respectable hour from Penang to Hi Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam. Its an easy flight, under two hours and we're starting to feel like we're getting the hang of this flying malarkey!
Elliot grabs someone's leftover massage at Penang airport.
Chillin' in our new pad. Zoolut Stay in the centre of HCM City.
And we're off. Oh my lord! It's manic, crazy, nutso, bedlam! We are gobsmacked. There are motorbikes everywhere. At traffic lights they gather in huge packs. There are sometimes whole families on one, plants and fridges too!
No wonder lots of people are wearing face masks with all the fumes.
We escape motorbike madness and head for a different kind in the Ben Thanh Market.
Mark gets straight in with the haggling. Nothing is priced and apparently we are easy targets for being ripped off. Half the price you are given and work from there. I'm hopeless plus everything is in thousands. Too many zeros. We've spent a million today!!
Browsing is not an option. We take a fleeting interest in something shiny and half the stall is being shown to us with the benefits of each product and great deals we will get if we buy more.
We take our chances with the bikes again.
We notice stark contrasts in the buildings.
Oh, and did I mention the bikes.
A park, how lovely!
We notice a group of grown men kicking what looks like a shuttlecock between them. And before you know it a guy called Yo is giving Mark skills training. He's actually pretty good and a huge stroke of luck, turns out Yo sells the shuttlecock thingies too!
Then the heavens open.
We head to Marukame Udon for Udon and Tempura. It's delish.
Then we try and make it back to Zoolut in one piece!
And we do, phew!
Hang onto your hats - cos here U go again!! Saigon looks like one active city! Very exciting - but a little crazy perhaps? Take care,and,enjoy- as U always do. Love G /P XXXX XXXX
